Satish and his wife Shashi married in 1985. They were blessed with a baby boy, whom they named Sanu. But unfortunately, he passed away when he was just 2 years old. It took a long time for the whole family to recover from this shock. After the demise of his son, Satish became a father again when he welcomed his daughter Vanshika in 2012 with the help of surrogacy. He was 56 at that time.
In the interview, when Satish was asked about raising a child in his 50s, he said, “To have a child at this age (Kaushik is in his late 50s) makes me very young.” (Laughs). But yes, it is challenging for a child who comes so late in life to do that. Vanshika, my daughter, is three years old now and she keeps telling me, ‘Dad, run after me. Dad ‘Catch me’. Now I can’t run after her. ! So I act like I’m running after her, since I’m a good actor. I can’t let her down. She’s cute and she just Started going to school. She’s the best thing that happened to me.”
When further asked if his daughter’s arrival has changed him in any way, Satish had said, “I have become a lot more domestic now. Earlier I used to enjoy myself. Now I go to parties. Avoid going, I have become.” Calm. I also control my diet and drinking because of that. I lost my son 20 years ago, when I was at the peak of my career. I haven’t even had time to really feel that loss. I was constantly busy with work and it would make me feel guilty: I didn’t even have time to mourn my son’s death. But now with the arrival of Vanshika everything is equal.
Satish died on March 9 at the age of 66 in New Delhi due to a heart attack. His last rites were performed at Versova cremation ground at around 8.30 pm in the presence of his family members and close friends. He is survived by his wife Shashi and 10-year-old daughter Vanshika.
