Vivek Agnihotri reacts to ‘Naatu Naatu’ win at Oscars 2023: I am glad that non-Bollywood star-oriented cinema is being replaced by real Indian cinema – EXCLUSIVE! , hindi movie news – Usky News

The country is celebrating as India gets two Oscars this year! ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ won Best Original Song and ‘The Elephant Whispers’ won Best Documentary Short at the 95th Academy Awards. ETimes got in touch with Vivek Agnihotri as India achieved this feat, and the filmmaker shared, “It is a great time for Indian cinema. Our film started with The Kashmir Files which caught the attention of a global audience, followed by the phenomenal success of RRR, two documentaries and an Oscar for The Elephant Whispers and Deepika Padukone presenting a segment at the Oscars. Deepika attended the Oscars and performed the song ‘RRR’ at the prestigious award ceremony.

Emphasizing on the importance of regional cinema, Vivek further said, “I am especially glad that non-Bollywood star-oriented cinema is now being replaced by genuine Indian cinema. I hope and pray that Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam and other regions also push the envelope and we start using Indian cinema as a unit and use it as our strongest.

Reacting to the victory of Naatu Naatu, NTR Jr said in a statement, “I am at a loss of words to express my excitement right now. This is not just a victory for RRR but a victory for India as a country.” I believe this is just the beginning, which shows us how far Indian cinema can go. Congratulations to Keeravani garu and Chandrabose garu. Surely it would not have been possible without a master storyteller named Rajamouli and the audience Hota, who would have showered us with love. I want to congratulate the team of ‘The Elephant Whispers’ on their win today, which brings another Oscar to India.

Vivek’s film The Kashmir Files has also made an impact at other international award shows and film festivals.
