Apart from this, she said, “People must be thinking that I had worked with him in ‘Karz’ earlier. However, it is not so. He was an assistant director in ‘Masoom’. So I have known him since childhood. I follow people’s tweets. Was reading. about him. He was a wonderful, loving and kind person. The only regret I have on his behalf is that I don’t think he got his due as an actor in the industry. He was a phenomenal actor Apart from being a director. In a line of work where you get typecast very quickly, his character ‘Calendar’ took up most of his career, and then later he got busy as a director. I have seen his acting performance and wish he would have got more opportunities. In the era of digitization and OTT, he would have done some great work.”
Recalling her recent interaction with the late actor, Urmila said, “When I met him, I was pulling his leg as he started exercising. I had seen a video of him in the gym. Was quite happy and elated. Her. So this news really came as a harsh shock. It’s very sad.
