Urmila Matondkar: I don’t think Satish Kaushik has got his due as an actor in the industry – Exclusive | hindi movie news – Usky News

The untimely demise of Satish Kaushik has shocked the entire nation. The ace actor-director passed away due to a heart attack on March 8.
ETimes contacted Urmila Matondkar, who condoled his demise. “Actually I got a news about it. I was very surprised because I had met him just two weeks ago at the launch of Javed Akhtar’s book. I had a good chat with him,” she added.

Apart from this, she said, “People must be thinking that I had worked with him in ‘Karz’ earlier. However, it is not so. He was an assistant director in ‘Masoom’. So I have known him since childhood. I follow people’s tweets. Was reading. about him. He was a wonderful, loving and kind person. The only regret I have on his behalf is that I don’t think he got his due as an actor in the industry. He was a phenomenal actor Apart from being a director. In a line of work where you get typecast very quickly, his character ‘Calendar’ took up most of his career, and then later he got busy as a director. I have seen his acting performance and wish he would have got more opportunities. In the era of digitization and OTT, he would have done some great work.”

Recalling her recent interaction with the late actor, Urmila said, “When I met him, I was pulling his leg as he started exercising. I had seen a video of him in the gym. Was quite happy and elated. Her. So this news really came as a harsh shock. It’s very sad.

She continued, “Anyone with whom he has interacted will remember him as an affectionate and kind co-star and director, or in whatever capacity they knew him. He is gone too soon. Much was lost for the film industry and the people around it.”

“Over the years, we kept in touch. We kept meeting at various events or at someone’s house for parties or functions. I’ve made many relationships in the film industry, and this one was very special. More than anything, I love her.” Remembered as an actor and a wonderful, warm person”, she said.
