As per a report in Box Office India, Tu Jhoothi Mein Makkar has been trending quite well and is expected to score acceptable scores on the board on Monday. The mentioned 40 per cent drop is in comparison to the film’s Friday collections, which were much lower post-Saturday release in non-Holi territories.
The report also states that if the film drops 50 per cent on Monday, it is likely to suffer a huge loss compared to Ranveer Singh’s 83, which made a faster run at the box office. The film is likely to suffer in the coming days considering the change in audience preferences after the pandemic. However, positive word of mouth might boost the film’s box office run.
As far as viewership is concerned, the mass market on Monday will remain strong while the film is estimated to do well in multiplexes of big cities. The film is expected to earn around Rs 65 crore after six days of its release, taking its first week total to Rs 77-78 crore, which would be a fairly reasonable number considering the current box office scenario .
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar marked the first collaboration of Ranbir and Shraddha on the big screen. The film also stars stand-up comedians Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia and Boney Kapoor in supporting roles.
