‘The Elephant Whispers’ Oscar may force the government not to amend the Wildlife Act: Jayaram | hindi movie news – Usky News



After ‘The Elephant Whispers’ bagged an Oscar at the Academy Awards, former environment minister Jairam Ramesh expressed hope that it might force the government to rethink about amending the Wildlife Act.

Documentary ‘The Elephant Whispers’ has won the Oscar in the Best Documentary Short Film category at the 95th Academy Awards.
The award was presented by ‘The Last of Us’ actor Pedro Pascal. ‘The Elephant Whispers’ was competing in the category with ‘Hallout’, ‘How Do You Measure a Year?’, ‘The Martha Mitchell Effect’ and ‘Stranger at the Gate’.

The award was received by director Kartiki Gonsalves and producer Guneet Monga. Karthiki talked about the film and said it is meant to co-exist and thanked the Academy Awards for recognizing his work.

‘Elephant Whispers’ is the directorial debut of Karthik Gonsalves. The documentary is about the bond that develops between a couple and an orphaned baby elephant, Raghu, who was entrusted with their care.
