Apart from ‘RRR’ and ‘The Elephant Whispers’, director Shaunak Sen’s documentary film ‘All That Breathes’ was also nominated at the 95th Academy Awards, but unfortunately could not win the trophy.
Sharing his reaction, Shaunak shared a long note on Instagram and shared a few pictures from the award ceremony, in which he can be seen posing with the team members of ‘All That Breathes’.
“So many chin-up messages of encouragement/support from yesterday. We were down for about an hour, but between the glittery people and things we were soon distracted into equanimity. Brain still trying to wrap around the fact for that’s the end of this chapter. Next we’ll be hard at work figuring out India distribution (HBO has ended its deal with Hotstar in India, and we’re figuring out on which platform but will come). For now, brothers, and so good to share this strange, bloated day with so many members of our crew. Here’s a quick (in chronological) row of pics as it progresses . (I’ll probably end up sharing another round of pics) , sorry.),” he captioned the post.
Shaunak Sen’s ‘All That Breathes’ was nominated in the Best Documentary Feature Film category but left behind director Daniel Rohr’s film ‘Navalny’ to win the award at the Oscars 2023.
All That Breathes follows siblings Mohammed Saud and Nadeem Shahzad, who have made it their life’s mission to rescue and treat injured birds, especially black kites. It previously won the ‘World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Documentary’ at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, a film festival that promotes independent cinema and filmmakers, and earned the Golden Eye Award for Best Documentary at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival Did.
