A video of the emotional ceremony has surfaced on the internet and Swara is in tears as she recites a poem about parting. Dressed in a pink lehenga and heavy jewellery, the actress is seen standing with husband Fahadh. Swara’s mother Ira Bhaskar and brother Ishaan are also seen in the frame. Reacting to the farewell ceremony, Swara’s father tweeted, “Thank you @sinjini_m for sharing this touching ‘moment’… as Swara Bhaskar’s wedding is over. Yes… ‘Kathor’ to the Commodore.” Had good reason to be out of frame… It’s indeed an emotionally charged moment even for a ‘Khadas (rude)’ father… Our dear @ReallySwara’s ‘Bidaai’.”
Swara and Fahad had a registered marriage ceremony last month and celebrated celebrations like haldi, mehendi, Carnatic music evening, sangeet, qawwali night and reception with their friends and family in Delhi. Speaking about their union, the couple had shared, “We are both very conscious and proud of our identity and neither wants to change anyone. We planned things that are common in both our traditions. Turmeric is something that is in both. In Muslims it is called Ubtan. Mehndi is done on both sides. Music happens on both sides. In India, an interfaith couple who do not convert can only get married in a court under the Special Marriage Act. that we have done. Now we are trying to create a common tradition of celebrations.”
