The actor’s presence in the valley is special in more ways than one. Apart from his love for the natural beauty of the place, the actor was also quoted as saying, “I am fond of Kashmir, my first film Rocky was also shot here.” While Rocky was shot in 1981, Dutt returned to shooting for Mission Kashmir in 2000 and again in 2010 for Lamha.
The 63-year-old actor had flown from Delhi to Srinagar in a private jet on March 10 and was busy shooting to explore nearby places or taste the local cuisine, especially wazwan. However, on Thursday he paid obeisance at the Aishmukam temple in Kashmir’s Anantnag district amid tight security. In a video shot at the temple, the actor was heard saying, “It was a call from God. I have prayed for Kashmir, I have prayed for India. I hope and pray that more films are shot in Kashmir, more tourists come and tourism gets a boost.
According to reports, the actor plays the antagonist in the film and has been hitting the gym regularly to prepare for the role. The acquaintance said, “He will probably leave today (March 17) evening.”
