She recalled a recent incident when Kapil Dev’s sister-in-law became uncomfortable after hugging her. The legendary cricketer had to assure him that Ranjit was not the kind of person you see in movies.
“I have made an impression on her. Kapil Dev’s sister-in-law had come for some therapy. So, I have a habit of shaking hands and hugging. So, she became a little uncomfortable. Kapil Dev then told her, “Yeh waisa Not as you think,” Ranjit told Lehren.
He further narrated an anecdote from when he used to fly to Delhi to be with his daughter Gigi, who was doing a fashion internship with designer Manish Arora. He used to visit her every weekend as he was afraid to leave her alone. They used to walk arm in arm and people used to judge him saying that he is still going around with girls even after being so old.
“She (Gigi) used to take me out to dinner every night. So, most of the times, what happened, I used to walk in her arms. She looks taller than me with high heels. So, people give me dirty looks. “Buddha ho gaya hai, abhi abhi jawan girls ko leke ghoomta hai. Sharan nahi aati. But people me bhi pyaar karte. I got a lot of love and affection,” he said.
