Here are excerpts from our conversation with Sagarika Chakraborty:

How did this ordeal begin?

I settled in Norway with my husband. We had two children – son and daughter. Two women from Norway’s Child Welfare went to the kindergarten first and kidnapped my son. And then came home and kidnapped my daughter.

They had come to our house earlier also. He had pre-planned it. He said he is coming to help us how we should manage our children and is writing something or the other in a notebook.

I never dreamed what was in store. They created misunderstandings between my husband and me. They wanted to decide where our kids would sleep and much more. One of the two even made racist remarks against me. The film is just that. It is based on my book ‘The Journey of a Mother’ which I wrote.

where is your husband

My husband is in Norway; He hasn’t inquired about us – neither about me nor about our children.

My struggle still continues. My children live with my family. I am the only earning member of my family. My husband also does not spend any money.

What did you think when you heard that Rani Mukerji would be playing your character in ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’?

I was very excited. Rani is my favorite actress (don’t miss Rani’s interview below).

Yes, I have seen the movie. I came to Mumbai on 9th March. I was invited to a screening.
