Pankaj Kapur reacts to ‘Bheed’ being termed as an anti-India film. hindi movie news – Usky News

Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur expressed his disappointment over the trailer of his latest film ‘Bheed’ being tagged as ‘anti-India’ on social media. The film describes the plight of migrant workers during the Covid-19 induced lockdown of 2020. A voiceover during the teaser says, “Ek baar phir hua tha batwara, 2020 mein (Partition happened once again, in 2020)” in which a section of the internet said that the filmmaker has touched upon the controversial subject by comparing it to the 1947 Partition. Deliberately sensationalised. Disagreeing with the same, Pankaj Kapur told The Indian Express that people should watch the film to understand the narrative. He said that Anubhav Sinha has chosen an example and built a story around it. Pankaj Kapur said that the film is not saying ‘good, bad or ugly’ but shows how the mind works. ‘Bheed’ talks about the thousands of migrant workers who had to face difficulties in returning to their hometowns from metro cities. The play is directed by Anubhav Sinha.

‘Bheed’ is scheduled to hit the screens on March 24 and also stars Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Kritika Kamra and Kumud Mishra.
