Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ released today and the Ambassador of Norway saw the film and did not have a favorable reaction to it. Hans Jakob Friedenlund wrote in a piece with the Indian Express that, “The film unfairly reflects Norway’s belief in family life and our respect for different cultures. Sagarika Chakraborty along with producer Nikkhil Advani has now responded to these allegations. Nikhil took to Twitter to share what happened during the screening. He wrote, “Atithi Devo Bhava! There is a cultural mandate in India. Every Indian is taught this by our elders. Last evening we hosted the Norwegian ambassador and volunteered to show him our film Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Screening After, I sat silently. Watching them scold two strong women who have chosen to tell this important story. I was silent because like Sagarika Chakraborty, they don’t have to fight for me and ‘culturally’ We do not disrespect our guests. As far as an explanation is concerned, the video is attached.

In the video, Sagarika can be seen saying that the ambassador spoke about the matter without decency. She said that she condemns the statements made by her linking the Norwegian government. Sagarika said, “When the whole world can see the bond between me and my children, the Norwegian government is spreading lies about it without knowing its story.”
He also said that he is getting a lot of love from all over the world and people want to meet him after the film. Sagarika confessed that the Government of India has helped her a lot.
