“When you are stigmatized as an illegitimate child… my parents, it was born in post-independence India in 1948; my mother was a Shia Muslim. Most are of faith; there are Hindus out there and she hides her identity and she wears a saree and wears a tika,” Mahesh told Arbaaz Khan.
He further added, “My father was a very reputed film producer. He had fallen in love with my mother, but we were an illegitimate household because of the religious prejudices that existed, so the survivors came to us. His story was that There was no way his mother was going to allow another Muslim woman (to be his wife), but they had fallen in love.
The filmmaker further revealed that his father lived with his second family in Andheri. “When he entered our house I felt like an outsider had come,” she said, adding that she was faced with vicious older men who would push her into a corner and ask her where her father was. And his sister would lie that he had gone to shoot.
“One day I said that my father does not live with us, he lives with his wife somewhere else in Andheri. My sisters came and told my mother about it and I almost lost my life. But then I understood that After that they stopped.” Troubled me and I found that whatever you hide, people tamper with it.
Mahesh has two children from his first marriage with Lorraine Bright, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt, better known as Kiran Bhatt, and two children from his second marriage with Soni Razdan, Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt.
