Music composer Lalit Pandit woke up on Monday morning to the best news he has heard in a while.

“We are honored with Oscars. India has started making a mark at the Oscars regularly and not just getting nominated, but winning them in various categories. Best Original Song Composed by MM Keeravani Naatu Naatu won the Oscar as Roop and it is a big achievement after Rahman’s Jai Ho. Congratulations to the entire team for creating such magic at the Oscars, making India proud. They have conquered the biggest platform for films and music!”

Lalit is also happy with India’s double whammy at the Oscars. “Many congratulations to Karthik Gonsalves and the team behind The Elephant Whispers for winning Best Documentary at the Academy Awards 2023. Thank you Karthik and Netflix for putting a wildlife film from India over the top!”

He is also proud of India’s third entry to the Oscars. “Also congratulations to Shaunak Sen and team for the Oscar nominated All That Breathes, one of the most brilliant documentaries I have ever seen. I believe that being nominated for an Oscar is a great achievement in itself. Similarly, being nominated among the biggest for Lagaan was a proud moment.
