A great actor, a great human being and the best landlord I had during my struggling days in the city,’ Kartik wrote alongside the photo. Your encouraging words and laughter will always be remembered sir. RIP Satish sir.

In a throwback interview with Humans of Bombay, Kartik talked about his initial days in the city of dreams. A part of the post shared on Instagram read, “I used to travel for 6 hours 3-4 times a week for auditions. Sometimes, I was rejected from outside the studio because I was ‘not the part’ ‘ was not visible.” But I still had hope. Soon I got projects like a few seconds in an advertisement and that kept me going. Eventually I rented a flat in Andheri with 12 boys. I had limited money.”

It also said, “After two-and-a-half years of struggle, what I had envisioned as a possibility was now a reality. After Pyaar Ka Panchma, there were still not many opportunities. I was in a film with 12 boys. Stayed in the same flat till my third film!”

Satish Kaushik passed away on March 8 following a heart attack. He was cremated at the Versova crematorium last night in the presence of his family members and close friends from the industry. Salman Khan, Anupam Kher, Ranbir Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and many other celebrities paid their last respects to the actor-director.
