Karan Johar thanks Rani Mukerji for coming to his rescue during Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Hindi Movie News – Usky News

At a recent event, Karan Johar thanked Rani Mukerji, who came to his rescue for one of his films. The two were first paired together in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Karan, who was making his directorial debut with this film, had difficulty choosing a heroine for Tina Malhotra’s role.
The actor recalled the incident saying, “There were some eight actresses who turned down the offer to play Tina. It was Aditya Chopra who suggested that I should watch the trailer of Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (starring Rani). And then there was me and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai associate director Nikhil Advani, who went to Rani’s house for a meeting and she said yes to do the film.

Karan, who initially wrote the role of Tina for Twinkle Khanna, also offered the role to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In his previous media interaction, he also mentioned that he struggled to get a heroine on board and also approached Urmila Matondkar and Tabu for the part. However, as all of them turned her down, it was Rani who got the role and the film’s success proved to be a milestone in her career.

Not only this, Johar’s ambitious project also hit a roadblock as he faced hurdles in casting an actor for the role of Aman Mehra, played by Salman Khan. Even for Salman’s part in the film, I had to do a lot of searching. Finally, it all happened,” he had said earlier at an event.
