Jenna Ortega never dreamed that her role in The Wednesdays would bring her such international fame. It has become the second most watched English TV serial of all time on the OTT platform on which it airs, after Stranger Things season 4. Most recently, The Wednesdays was renewed for another season. As a young girl and was looking for a breakthrough role in films when the email came with an offer to act in ‘Wednesday’. She had already done so much TV work recently that she was scared to sign up for television again, she told The Times UK. She thought it would stop her from doing what she really wanted to do.
She revealed that she took on the project because of Wednesday director and producer Tim Burton, as she knew him well and was close to him.
Jenna also recently talked about her role on a podcast on Wednesday, saying that she would often change the lead character’s lines if she didn’t agree with them. She recently said on the Armchair Expert podcast that she often has to sit down with the show’s writers and explain why she can’t speak scripted lines for Wednesday, especially if she feels the lines don’t make sense for the character.
