Eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2023
To be eligible to sit for the JEE Main, candidates must have completed (or be in the process of completing) Class 12, or its equivalent. Candidates who will turn 25 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of the exam are not eligible to appear for JEE Main.
There is no attempt limit for JEE Main.
Aspirants should have taken at least five subjects in their Class 12board exams. These subjects must include Physics and Mathematics as compulsary subjects, along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subject as an elective subject.
Candidates belonging to the general category must have secured at least 75% marks in their Class 12 board exams, while those belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category must have secured at least 65% marks.
Registration process for JEE Main 2023
The registration process for JEE Main is fairly simple and can be done entirely online. The first step is to create an account on the official website. Once you have done so, you will be able to fill out the application form and pay the registration fee. The last step is to print out the confirmation page for your records.

To register for JEE Main, candidates must have the following documents:

Fees Structure of JEE Main 2023
JEE Main registration fees for Indian candidates is Rs. 500/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC, ST & PWD candidates. There is no application fee for female candidates. Fees can be paid online through credit/debit card or net banking or by e-challan at any SBI bank branch.
Candidates who wish to apply for both Paper 1 and 2 of JEE Main will have to pay a total of Rs. 1000/- as registration fees. For NRI, PIO & OCI candidates, the registration fee is USD 160 which is to be paid online through credit/debit card or net banking only.
Exam Pattern of JEE Main 2023
The JEE Main exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
The exam is held in two parts – Paper 1 for admission to engineering courses and Paper 2 for admission to architecture and planning courses. Candidates can attempt either or both papers, as per their choice of course.
Paper 1 is divided into three sections – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section has 20 objective-type questions, carrying 4 marks each. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
Paper 2 has two sections – Aptitude Test and Drawing Test. The Aptitude Test has 50 objective-type questions, carrying 4 marks each. The Drawing Test has 2 questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in either section.
The total duration of the exam is 3 hours 30 minutes (for Paper 1) and 3 hours (for Paper 2).

The online registration process for JEE Main will start from November 2022. JEE Main 1st Attempt registration will be held November 2022.
But date is yet to be released for the upcoming JEE Main 2033 registration
JEE Mains 2023 Exam are being held in two sessions- Session 1 start on January 2023, and Session 2 on April 2023.
In the JEE Main 2022, there were 10, 26,799 candidates registered for the JEE Main. Approximately 9,05,590 students took the exam. Fourteen of these students secured a 100 % score.
