For the first time, two Indian productions won Oscars this year, leading to celebrations across the country. However, amid all the love, appreciation and applause, Jacqueline Fernandez’s make-up artist and close friend Shaan Muttathil took a jibe at the winners and alleged that the award can be bought.
Taking to the comments section of an Instagram post announcing Natu Natu’s historic win, Shaan wrote, “Hahahah this is so funny. I thought only in India we could buy awards. But now Oscars too.” Money and what all we can get. When we have the money. Even the Oscars lol.”
It is to be noted that the song ‘Applause’ from Jacqueline starrer ‘Tell It Like A Woman’ was also an Oscar contender in the Best Original Song category. Other tracks competing in the same category were Lady Gaga’s ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and Son Lux, Mitsky, David Byrne’s ‘ This Is A’. Life’ everything together from everywhere.
‘Naatu Naatu’ from MM Keeravani and Chandrabose’s ‘RRR’ beats the competition to win the award.
