Govinda: Satish Kaushik worked in many films for free. We had to persuade him to take the money! , hindi movie news – Usky News

Actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away in Delhi on Thursday. Kaushik, 66, who played several memorable characters like Calendar in Mr India and Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana, was known for his brilliant comic timing. In the 90s, her pairing with Govinda created magic on the big screen in films like David Dhawan’s Swarg, Saajan Chale Sasural, Deewana Mastana, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Haseena Maan Jayegi.
Expressing grief over the loss of his friend and fondly remembering his favorite co-star, Govinda said, “I have known him for the last 25 years. We worked together many times and each film was a super hit. His comic timing and the effort put into writing his lines was commendable. Even in such sad times, the characters played by him bring a smile on your face. This was his achievement as an actor.

Both the actors last shared screen space in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Govinda said, ‘The last film we did together was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. In this he played the character named Sharafat Ali. He used to come home to work on his lines. Even for Pappu Pager (Deewana Mastana), when I heard his lines, I said I need to rewrite my lines. I introduced ‘Na’ after each line in Nagpada style. That’s how we used to work. There was a healthy give and take. We complemented each other. He was an actor who took everyone along.

On an emotional note, she shared, “Satish was extremely thoughtful and kind. We last met on the sets of Indian Idol. He was passionate about his craft. He worked for free in many films. He played a character in Aunty No. 1 and didn’t want to charge a single penny. We had to persuade him to take the money. He was a kind person. I pray for his family.”
