facebook-parent meta platform The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter, that several rounds of additional layoffs are being announced over the next few months, which could match the 13% job cut tally from last year.
Meta let go of 11,000 employees four months ago and will be the first big tech company to announce a second round of mass layoffs.
According to the report, the first wave of new cuts will be announced next week and non-engineering roles are likely to be hit hardest.
The report states that the company is also expected to lay off some projects and teams along with these cuts.
Meta did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
