Chunky Pandey, who has worked with Satish Kaushik in several projects, told ETimes, “This is the worst news I have woken up to. This is very sad. He was a wonderful person, there was always a lot to learn from him. Recalling his first meeting with the legendary actor, Chunky Pandey shared, “I met him for the first time during my struggling days, it was on the sets of Mr. India in 1986-87. He was also assisting in the film. It was very encouraging when I met him. Over the years, we met at many parties, Holi celebrations. And then I worked under him as an actor when he directed ‘Gang of Ghosts’ in 2014. We have worked as co-stars in many films, the most recent being ‘Pop Kaun’, which is releasing on OTT in a week. ,
Talking about his recent interaction with the actor, Chunky said, “He was the happiest person on the sets. I remember recently we were shooting, everyone else had packed up, had dinner and went to sleep. I was having dinner and even though he had finished dinner and was in his room when I called him, he immediately came over to me. I was eating dinner alone but he joined me, he was very caring. Even after collecting everything, he came down to support me. We spent a few hours late at night talking.
“His best quality was his sheer joy on set. There was nothing delicate about him. He was adept in front of the camera as well as behind the camera. He always kept the set alive, even in the face of craziness too,” Chunky concluded.
