Bhumika Chawla was the heroine in Tere Naam, one of the most successful films directed by late Satish Kaushik. Starring Salman Khan in the lead, the film’s music and story achieved a cult status upon release. After Satish Kaushik passed away following a heart attack today, memories of working with him suddenly came back in the role.

Speaking to ETimes, she revealed, “Satish ji was a wonderful and jovial person. He always had a smile on his face and radiated positive energy. Worked with him in Tere Naam, we used to meet often. I always saw That he had childlike energy and wanted to do something new and better. He was always very happy. The news of his demise has been shocking.”

Bhumika said that Satish Kaushik helped her a lot during the shooting of Tere Naam. She said, “Being an actor, he understood what it was like for me to do my first Hindi film, though I had done many South films before. He was very helpful. He used to talk to my mother and I came to know that They both came from Karol Bagh in Delhi and were born and brought up just a lane away from each other.” She also said that Tere Naam was an unforgettable film for her, “Working with her in Tere Naam was a great experience because it was a different film. It was not a normal film.”

Satish Kaushik and Bhumika kept in touch but still, the actress regrets that she could not meet him for the last time. She added, “I connected with him more over the years after his daughter was born. This time, it was more like a family thing, with the kids growing up together.
