Responding to the tribute, Guneet wrote ‘Best’. The tribute sketch shows Guneet and Kartiki holding the Oscar trophy in their hands and the elephant is also seen in a celebratory mood as it stands on its two legs.
‘The Elephant Whispers’ won one of the two Oscars for India on Monday, with RRR song ‘Naatu Naatu’ winning in the Best Original Song category. The Elephant Whisperers competed against Hall Out, How Do You Measure a Year?, The Martha Mitchell Effect and Stranger at the Gate.
The plot of the documentary revolves around a family who adopts two orphaned baby elephants at Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Guneet Monga has brought the Oscars to India. In 2019, his documentary ‘Period. End of Sentence’ won the Oscar for Documentary Short Subject.
